Every year it seems to get less interesting. This year was the worst Ive been to.
Less manufacturers, more Packy's selling crap. Honestly ... you would think going to a bike show with the intention of buying gloves, it would be easy !!
The biggest selection of low quality crap, I wouldnt even use as gardening gloves.
(did eventually manage to find a pair of Icon super duty gloves which are wonderful but were £40. Haggled him down to 38, but he never had change )
Saw Andy, the man who fills yer ears with goo.
Couldnt sit on any of the KTMs. BMW was absent. So was the guy who sells the rufty tufty adventure stuff.
John McGuiness sat next to us in the scabby bar where the only draught beer was Tennants Lager. He's a bit chunky you know.
Haggis and chips for £5 which was ok.
Sat on a Triumph explorer .... after I got off ... it fell over!!
Nothing to do with me, the tie wires snapped. Helped the Triumph bloke to pick it up, and I can vouch for its toughness. No damage at all . It was heavy, but felt yummy to sit on, with, for me, the perfect riding position, and the matt olive green contrasted perfectly with my new 'natural' gloves (which I had on of course)
Ducati Duvel thingy was very nice.
A few nice classics and customs, but too many ponied and goatied leather waistcoated folk. Usual bandit and pan/gold wingdingian wallies. Is that all they do ... drive between shows?
Rough looking but interesting 1150 adventure combo with home made rear paralever and car wheels.
Think that about sums it up. Mediochre to crap ... but will probably go back next year.
Did I mention that I bought gloves. I'm typing with them on ... all goat skin softiness. Wonder what else I can do with them on ?
