Some shower of fe*kers tried to take my bike last night from outside my house. Fair play to the Gardai and one of my neighbors for getting it back in one piece. Ignition barrel is the only damage.

Ive been living in Swords for 12 years and have just sold our house so will be moving out in about 3 weeks, and this is the first time I've had a bike taken.

Bike is away now getting fingerprints off it. Guards said they were after 3 lads in a van. I hope they get them. Fe*kin baxtards! :forry:forry:forry

Good news that you got it back. Was there an alarm on it ?

Heading into town yesterday I saw one of Dublins retired "robbers" at a bike shop in amiens st . Never a good sign.

Sorry to hear it, Im in Lusk and have been under the impression that BM's are not really sought after in that way,It's a wake up call. I'm off to lock the gate.

Gardai

Pity the Gardai were not in wait like the cash van job the other day, seems to be the only justice. Job well done on their behalf. Whatever about robbing a BM from Skerries/Rush/Lusk, I certainly would not try the post office!http://www.rte.ie/news/2005/0526/dublin.html

The bike is off getting fingerprints, thats not the Gardai looking for the culprits, its Pat's missus. If she finds out he was out on that thing without a permission slip again, he is really in for it!

There will probably be lots of finger prints on it from all the people who had to help him pick it up each time he drops it:augie (Can't say I'm much better to be honest!:JB )

Hope the Gardai catch the basta#ds:thumb2

Hi Luke, No I dont have an alarm on it, If I did, I would have heard it the minute it was touched. I might invest in one....

Hi Richard, I thought the very same, a friend of mine had his GS and a DRZ400 parked behind his house, thieves took the DRZ and left the GS. Never got it back...
you were lucky hope all goes ok JJH

Thanks JJH, Talking to my neighbor today and he saw the van pull up outside and 3 dodgy looking blokes, then the heard the banging of them breaking the steering lock. Only for him being there the bike was gone for sure. He got the reg of the van too. :clap

alarms don't stop ****ers putting bikes in the back of a van

Not being able to move the bike
getting nicked trying to
and shotguns- http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model_1100/

stop bikes being thrown into vans.

Even if you had an alarm ...the time it takes to completely remove a datatool s4 from a bike? Theives recon 5 minutes in their 'workshop'

Took me 25 mins and i was being carefull not to damage anything.

Your right. But my bmw alarm makes a feckin racket if you move the bike at all and would be enough to waken me in the night even if it went off for 5 seconds. Nothing will stop them but an alarm just makes it harder for them :rob

Nope, spend some time in london if you don't believe me. They throw it in a van, come out and challenege them, and you will get shot or hit about the head with a blunt object. 5 of them, you with your cock hanging out of your PJs...bring out a firearm and you are the criminal, not them.

In 1930's England it was legal to own a revolver to protect your propety. Where'd we all go wrong?

That's great that you got it back, Pat.

Just goes to show it's important for us all to look out for each other.

Do, but spend little. An alarm is only any good if you are there to hear it. Saying that, one of these saved my wife's bike when two well known Dublin bike thieves cut the poxy little chain I was using to anchor it to a pole. Alarm went off as the scummer threw a leg over the saddle.

These days I use Almax chains & proper Squire locks. Top kit for total peace of mind.

Bike is back

Well I got it back this morning in one piece. :JB

New and second hand bits coming from motorworks so will be good as new before the weekend.

They did a bit more damage than I had thought where they tried to lift the bike by the rear rack, but at least I got it back.

My neighbor said it was a 99-D white Nissan Vanette so If you are in north Dublin area keep an eye out for one with three shifty lookin blokes in it....

Pat.
