I've got an Autocom Duo Plus 200 and want to set it up for bike to bike for a trip to the Picos in May.

We will be camping so may not have access to power points for recharging, plus I don't want to splash too much cash. I can charge regular batteries from the bike.

So advice please, is the Midland G7 going to be the one to go for, especially as I can charge up batteries whilst riding?

That's what I have just bought. It is the budget one recommended by Autocom.

I didn't want to spend a lot because it won't be something that it used often.

I went to Maplin and bought the pair for £79.99 so at least I have a couple of radios to use when I'm off the bike.

If you search the forum you should find some more comments about the G7.

The Midlands are a cracking little radio but there would be no way of bike powering the radios via your system or bike. So you would need to carry the charger or carry a good handfull of AA batteries.

Thanks Rich:thumb

I don't care about charging directly from the bike I can charge AA batteries from the bike whilst on the move:thumb

I just want something that does the job for a reasonable cost, once or twice a year.

How do you rate them?

Do they run on AA batteries?

Haven't used them yet - hopefully we are going out Easter w/e. Yes they do take AA battteries so that makes it easier as I always carry a small charger with me.
