I have one of the Pre 2009 Autocom SPA fitted to one of my bikes which is connected via a PTT to a Kenwood funkey radio. At stand still & low speeds my riding mates have no problems hearing me. However at higher speeds there is a problem with my transmissions and they can hardly hear me. I have tried a TK3201 which is exactly the same. The Mic is positioned correctly. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

I had a similar problem a while back with one of these....turned out the boom had got twisted and the mic beige side was facing away from me:blast

try using the kenwood as a hand held with your mates to see if the problem lies with the kenwood or the autocom, a pal has had problems with his where the transmitted "volume " is unbearably loud for the rest of us but sounds normal to him....a gain control has gone u/s he thinks....its the opposite of your issue but could be related

Beige side is towards me. The radio seems to be ok as I borrowed one and we had the same issue. Up to @ 30 mph the can hear me fine after that it starts tailing off until I can't be head at all at @ 60- 65 mph.

Do they hear anything at higher speeds ? It's not the wind noise cutting out your voice ? The mic needs to be beige side to your lips as close as poss so you are " kissing it " what lid do you have ? If can fit an underside wind shield like a multitec has , I think it may help

If the mic was any closer, I'd be chewing on it:D I have a C3 Pro.

How about the ambient noise sensor? if its got one?, may have come unpluged or is out of position.

It is still in position & plugged in. Would the ANS cause this issue as I thought it raised the volume level of the speakers as wind noise increased.

The way you describe it, makes you think its either the vox or the ANS, try either taping over the ANS or tucking it inside the lining for a ride. Also not sure if the pre 2009 unit has one but the post 2009 unit has a mic gain pot on the circuit board. These faults are a sod to track down, worth rechecking all connections in the hedset, slight parting of the micro connector to the mic and ANC or even tight twists can drop the sound level?

Not sure its VOX as I am using PTT. I'll check all the connections this weekend.
