So far I've checked it's sparking ok :thumb2

Thanks Forry :(

Bikes a 2002 1150 adv single spark done 60000 miles
Rev counter was jumping about on sunday but seems fine now the batterys charged.Bike won't run with any throttle tried half inch.

Just had a mate along we've checked there's fuel at the injectors
Plugs are sparking they're brisk ones mate reckons try a different set tmw just in case.

Cheers for the help so far :thumb2

running through the logic of the workings

Fuel in tank any vacum sound when you open fuel cap ?
can you hear fuel pump whine ?
fuel getting to injectors
safe to assume fuel getting to cylinder as you would have trouble on the run up to Glen clova if this was problematic
Valves are going to be reasonable okay again same logic as above
sparks are sparking
are the throttle cables sitting corectly ? if one sits high in its holder it can cause symptoms similar to what you described
do the Hall sensors check out okay (turn wheel while in gear if injectors fire then hall sensors would appear okay) not a definite check but helps
Does the rev counter not take it's feed from the hall sensors ? maybe you got an intermittent fault on one of them ?
is TPS okay here is a pdf of the spec for the TPS View attachment bosch tps.pdf
after that I'm out of ideas, I have a manual for the 1150GS which may helpif you want a copy PM details if you do.

HTH

Leave it on the side stand overnight and see how it runs in the morning.

honest, not winding you up. :D

if it starts and runs ok then gives you trouble after 5 minutes Pm me for the answer :D

Water in the tank.
My trusty 1100 :augie did the same.
Emptied the tank.
Refitted.
Never did it again.
Water in the tank.

Has anyone else suggested this :)

Where do I go from here any ideas ?

Thanks again :thumb

In your first post, you say that it will tick-over.

Will it still do that?

If so does it die when you load-up the revs?

Yes Mike it will tick over 5-10 secs maybe bit longer sometimes try giving it a bit of throttle it just dies !!

Forry,

I'm just trying to get a clearer picture here, so if you leave it ticking over it will happily do so?

Is it running smoothly when it's ticking over?

Is it difficult to start or does it fire-up like normal?

Mike it's difficult to start you can here it firing but it doesn't start off the button straight away.

When it does tick over it sounds pretty sweet like normal then it'll die after 5-10 secs .

Rev counter jumping around?

Only ticks over for a few seconds?

Apply beans and engine dies?

Same thing happened to my 1100, turned out to be hall sensors.

If you can get a way to check 'em, then check 'em.

Has the TPS taken a knock? Damaged or moved?

I'm thinking that if you have a fat spark, spraying fuel from the injectors then the obvious thing that's left is the throttle position sensor. Especially as it will start and run but doesn't like throttle movement.

Don't think the TPS has been knocked started fine 1st thing sunday morning then I parked it for a couple of hrs then it wouldn't run.

I did drop it on the RH side on saturday nowt serious ran fine afterwards too :thumb
