Biker caught doing record speed

A Police spokesman said:

"This was a man with a ruthless streak, travelling at hair-raising speeds. Some may find his imprisonment barberous, but in the cut-throat world of fast, razor-sharp handling bikes this man could have ended up with having the boys in blue rinse whats left of him off the road."

Yeah, I know. I'm gone.

Whits wi the gash "he took advanced training after being stopped" should have taken it before & maybe he'd be able to ride it instead of aiming it?

Takes a lot of balls 166 though?
One power ranger (hairdresser!!) less to worry about for a while a suppose!!!

From the BBC site:- "Last year more than 20 motorists were caught travelling at more than 100mph on the Dolphinton stretch of the A702."

I wonder how many accidents have occured in the same period?

Sound a bit like speed paranoia seeping in. It would be a lot more constructive if as much attention was paid to the huge number of drivers demonstrating abysmal skills, observation, courtesy and vehicle maintenance.

I'd rather share the roads with skilled riders and drivers in control of well maintained machines exceeding speed limits out of towns than incompetent idiots in dangerous vehicles sticking to those same limits.

As part of your observation when riding try checking out car tyres. The number visibly under inflated and near to flat is a disgrace. Fine under normal circumstances but in an emergency maybe the final straw.

(Can I have 1 chilli for this post?)

I agree with Packer.....

....who else in the forum sticks to ALL the limits, ALL of the time and having never maxed out their bike.

....although I realise there is plenty of old duffers :rob, on the forum so the last comment might not apply.:thumb:thumb

You'll find that the "Moral High Ground" is very overcrowded !!!!!

Worse still - are the buffoons who make up this sentencing policy without tarnish. I think not.

Prison for only going too fast is not appropriate. Just an opinion.:thumb

Is it about the speed or the contempt of the law the the speed demonstrates, i have to add that my views on speed are exactly that, only my views, the law, weather we like it or not, is the law, and the punishment is genrally reflected by the degree in which it was broken, was he exceeding the speed limit by a small margine that he could of blamed on a lapse of concentration, no he wound a machine up to its max and let it go, he demonstrated a serious contempt of the law, the fact that he was speeding is irelevent. should he go to prison who knows, certainly it was good news that marlon king went to prison.

+1

....and what contempt does the first time or repeat burglar/mugger/granny basher show for the law?

That doesn't seem to guarantee custodial sentencing??
