it's that time again, when the politicos are out and about looking for votes.
So when they come knocking at your door - here's a suggestion;
follow the link, print out the poster, ask the questions - see the reaction. :green gri

We (*putting my MAG Irl. hat on*) would be interested in hearing what feedback you get. :augie

Thanks.

What canvassers

There is a serious shortage of canvassers in our area of Leixlip, we have had FG (twice), Independent (once plus leaflet from another) and that is it:confused:

I was really looking forward to FF coming round but they are about as visible as their party logo on their posters:augie

That's a good poster - I like that. :thumb2

from a man of your cal-ibre (as Tony Hancock said :D) that's high praise!
Thank you! :)
it's better than the old version we had a few years ago....
which had me in it :blast

made me laugh! :D
there was some'body' canvassing outside a shopping centre recently - me and Mrs Og (Linda) walked past...... didn't even register on his radar / didn't bother stopping us.
i walked back and mentioned the SMIDSY phenomena  got into discussion / got quite a reasonable response.
followed by an eMail promising* action should he get into power.

*i wont hold my breath / but getting them to notice us, is at least a step.

Thanks for the replies folks. :thumb2

Good poster..Good questions....except for one

Why should motorcycles be exempt from roadworthiness testing??

as less than one percent (.7% to be precise) of crashes are due to mechanical failure, what need is there for a Bike 'NCT'? :nenau (MOT to our UK bretheren)
as a group of road users we are far more aware of and careful to ensure roadworthiness of our vehicles - for if we dont, the consequences can be very serious... even fatal.
Yes, there is the odd idiot out there riding a deathtrap - there always will be, an 'NCT' (perhaps i should call it an nBt?) wont stop that.

what follows next is MY opinion / not MAGs
but it would delight the (small precentage, i'm sure :augie) of cowboys in the trade that could make a lot of money from it for one thing.
also it would add to the bureaucracy/paperwork that is increasingly hampering anyone trying to get on the road here.

Haven't seen anybody yet but when I do I'll be ready
ya may have be a little more.... 'proactive' in your method. :augie
a lot of them have cottoned onto the fact we Bikers can be somewhat vocal.
:green gri
hence,
some of the less genuine ones will actually go out of their way to avoid you.
i know - hard to believe, isn't it :nenau

One factor that has just occurred to me in relation to NCT for bikes....
It would mean that at least every two years all bikes being used on the road w ould be having their identity checked to ensure that registration, chassis and engine numbers are correct.
Every time the Gardai have a crackdown in dublin for stolen bikes they find a few which have been stolen and used with alternative plates.....
