I have been mulling this over for a little while and am asking for a few shared thoughts.

Is something like 'Gizmo' needed by bikers who are wanting several powered devices on the bike or is just wishful thinking ?.

Attaching more devices to a bike is becoming the norm, so using a mix of devices; e.g. GPS/Phone/MP3/iPod/Vid-cam/ speed camera detector, etc; it ends up with more mounts and worse still, a lot of wire running under and thru the bike to an access power point (normally under the seat) unless there is an aftermarket socket fit, near the clocks.

My thought is for, one multi-access port ‘Gizmo’ which (just like QPAC) sits between the ball mount and the cradle or a triple cradle adaptor plate (RAP-333). Each attached device then plugs into its own socket (or port) at the mount head with a single fused in-line cable which goes to the bike power socket or bare wired to supply terminals. So one cable is used thus keeping it tidy and not a mass of cables to get the devices powered at the mount head..

'Gizmo' could also have a Vreg chipset (again same as QPAC) for powering several devices as well as a 3.5mm jack socket for audio out ?.

I have not seen or heard of anything like this on the market, unless someone knows better.

So thoughts please. Comments and observations are appreciated.

Yes, that's a little better and is following on my thinking.

To put some imagery around this ...

Attaching several devices may look something like this ..

and using behind the adaptor plate will sit, something like QPAC which will charge/power a flat Li-on cell gps and when in normal mode will have sufficient to power one or two other devices.

which forms part of the mount so only one power cable routed and everything is at the mount head :thumb .

When parking up, undo an inline power lead connector and the arm (plus mount head) and 'scrote' opportunity is removed :nenau

i think the QPAC part is a really good idea if you could get it to tap off at different volatages... the main problem i see is that most devices need a cigarette type plug because the voltage converter is inside them and these are bulky when there are two or three of them:(

The up side would be that a lot of stuff use around 5V so a 5V outlet would be good for starters:D

If you could get something like this sorted i'm sure it would sell well:thumb2

Your living up to your name ..

I've been closeted with 'J' recently. The QPAC circuit and casing is proven .. even on C90's; so the likelihood is for 5V@750mA can sort out most GSmo's on to power a single device using the concept of 'USB to device plug' (a short lead dongle) opens itself up to many varied devices. There's still lots to do on this but I would hope we are at product testing in a couple of months at this rate.

Since there's a Vista of different devices ..how detailed is this wish list ..
has anything been missed ?.

Many of these devices will use USB, mini USB or DC output plug, eg DC 2.0 up to DC 4.0 connection
