Ladies/gents,

Please forgive the unashamed plug, but here goes.

Many of you will be familiar with BikeSafe, & the work we do to try & make motorcycling safer & more pleasurable for road riders.

For the last two years the Police forces of the South-West have organised a BikeSafe day at Castle Combe circuit in order, we hope, to widen the appeal of BikeSafe. This year it's on Saturday June 2nd.

Basically we put on a show with trade stands & displays, but we also offer riders a chance to experience a few laps of the circuit, & perhaps get a taste for it & return at a future date for a full track day.

The only stipulation is that before a rider can have his track laps he ( or she, of course) has to go out on the road for an assessed ride with a Class 1 rider, as is usual at BikeSafe events.

The show is free to enter.

The assessed ride is free.

The only charge is if a rider wants to go onto the track, for which there is a fee of £30, mainly to cover the third party liability we have to take out.

If you haven’t joined us at previous events, please do so this year. If you have friends or colleagues who would enjoy it, please pass this on. If you belong to any other riders forums, we’d appreciate it if you gave this a mention, & a link.

If you’ve already done so, thank you, but keep giving it a “bump”.

Martin, the website says the assessed ride is £30. You say is free! So which is it? :nenau

Doesn't really matter I guess as I will be there if I can get away from my weekend jobs around the house... :thumb

The £30 is only if you want to avail yourself of the track time.
The show & an assessment is free - honest !

Martyn - whats the score with clothing?

Last year I remember something about leathers, but have probably missed that this year - is it still one piece/ two piece zip together leathers or are zip together textiles acceptable?

That's a good question:rob

Obviously for the on-road element textiles are the choice of many, if not most.

Re the track, I am not 100% sure.

I'm off to the circuit shortly re setting up. I'll enquire. I don't want to give you duff info.
