Any more?

Yep I'd be up for giving it another go! :thumb2

Well done Aidan, that's a usefull thing to do I did mine in 2004.......the officer following me said "ride like you normally would"..........but I thought I'd better not:D:D

like marcus i did mine a while back and was told to ride as normal...

that i think is the real problem with this asessment of riding skills..who of us can actually say that they werent actually trying to pass this rather than riding in our normal way.

i know i wasnt going to ride as normal with a cop tailing me.

i rigorously obeyed all speed limits, went overboard with mirror and shoulder checks and generally rode as though i was doing a test.

i think real rider training would far more valuable such as ROSPA.

also there is no substitute for experience.putting in the miles in cities at rush hour is a whole other experience to doing a long tour.

if you do the bike safe thing i think the best idea is to critique yourself and then compare with what the cop says.if we are honest with ourselves we will probably pick out more faults than he can

by the way well done aidan:thumb2

i did mine at the bike show two year ago and got feck all freebies.
about two weeks later the lads wre doing it out of hursts and i managed to scrounge a cap off them:rob

cheers,kyle

We're not worthy!!! We're not worthy!!! :bow:bow:bow

Initially it was a wee bit weird having a fully dressed police pan running behind, but you soon don't pass much remarks on him.

Aye right, you'd be well used to it!! Only difference was his siren was off!! :thumb

Would definitely be up for this, have been considering some advanced training (long overdue i know :nono) and this would be a good intro.

Well done ya big ballix :clap!!!!

I don't see why anyone from south of the line wouldn't be able to take the assessment but I will get in touch with Bill and ask the question just to be sure.

So far we have ten people interested. If you would like to be included please post to this thread. :thumb2

Cos they're too bloody wide to get past!!

Have to say it would be an honour and a privilege to attend an event like this with such an accomplished and highly decorated rider as yourself. I hope you can see fit to bestow upon us some tips gathered from your many many many years in the saddle :thumb2.

there are a lot of southern men/gals on the list ! is it an issue?

I don't think so Con, but have e-mailed Bill tonight to be sure that it won't. I hope to be talking to him later in the week and will double check. Watch this space as they say. :)

I had a reply from Bill last night. All GSers from south of the line will be most welcome to take the Bikesafe assessment.

All riders will have to bring their driving licence and certificate of insurance on the day.
