I am a big fan of Bike safe!!

Did my day with a bloke from Antrim traffic called Stevie McG, who had been recommended to me by a friend. So I rang and requested him to take me on my Bikesafe.
He met me at lunch and introduced himself and explained very clearly what the Bikesafe course intended to achieve and then off we went. I was quite new to biking and after heading from Ballymena over Shane's Hill to Larne, we stopped to discuss the good and not so good points of my ride. Every criticism was a constructive one and then Stevie suggested that i followed him for a few miles and stick to his lines. After this the roles were again reversed and I felt myself, that my bike control and cornering felt "smooth" (the buzz word for the day), and confident. Stevie spent the best part of half a day with me even managing to pull a driver for a really bad over take. He was obviously a passionate and experienced biker who just wanted to improve my riding. I would highly recommend this guy and am sure he would be willing to do your Bikesafe, if you request him from Antrim Traffic.
I have now graduated to riding a GS and have covered numerous miles in Scotland and always aim to ride "smooth" and remember what I was taught that day.

Good post Bill. :thumb2

I hope to get a chat with Bill Holden in the next day or two regarding a date for the Bikesafe thing.

Hopefully it will be held at Hein Gericke Newry which should be pretty central for everyone.

More news as I have it. :)

Oh, this is gonna get interesting ;) Those PSNI boyos better be ready to turn on the afterburners when they tell you to "ride normally" :augie

Now what have I ever posted that would give you the impression that I understand a word of that :nenau :D To say I took Irish classes in school would be a gross misrepresentation of the facts :mmmm "doodled" & "snoozed" would be more to the point. How was I to know at that time that some day I'd have three young lads who'd be doing it in school & might occasionally need help :o

my standard reply;

nee friggin higgum. is misha ignorant sassanach.
