Bikesafe with Fife Polis...

Went out today with the police, wet and miserable, chucking it down with rain, got soaked through and you never can get rid of that fear when you have a policeman hanging on your rear end....

anyhoo, I got through bikesafe ok, a few things to put into practice but given that I was riding more confidently in the wet, something was working. I even got a lovely certificate..... ....no stickers though....

From what I understand, there are still places on bikesafe with Fife, so if you're up for it, give them a shout....I'm glad I did......

It's about 9 years since SWMBO and I both did a Bikesafe course with Lothian and Borders. ISTR that there were two evening classroom sessions and then an observed ride on a Saturday morning. SWMBO's observed ride was conducted at a signifcantly quicker pace than mine.

it was a 9 a.m. start and allowing for a coffee break and lunch you were in the lecture room until 1 p.m. watching a movie and talking through all sorts of things

At 1 p.m. out on the road, I ended up going with one copper on my own, Police Man Sergeant Scott, I did a ride, he ripped the pish, he did a ride, I watched in awe, then I did a ride and got some praise because I was trying, good fun really.....

I really appreciated that someone was giving a really good critique on all sorts of things, things I had never thought about in all of the year's of riding....

Sounds like a useful day. I went along to a 2 hour Bikesafe overview event at East Kilbride Police training centre about 3 years ago. Very good presentation on a variety of bike related topics. Put my name down for the course but never got a place. Will need to try again.
