Hi I did this trip last year and it was a blast , look at www.biketruck.com for all the links and pic's this is the best way ever to get your bike down to morocco and back , in one week , billy picks up your bike and transports it to Maiga , you fly in on a cheep easy jet flight , pick up your bike , at the hotel ride it to the ferry and in hours your ridding in the dessert down Morocco , you get a route plan and spend a week ridding in Morocco drop your bike back at the hotel , and billy biketruck dose all the rest , you get on your flight back home and in three days , billy has your bike back in the UK safe and sound , BRILLIANT ! CHEEP AS CHIPS

Bike £500, Panniers another £50 as they go in a different pallet (it's on the website just not that easy to find). I got my flights free but even if i'd payed for them it would have been worthwhile compared to riding down, and saved me a weeks holidays.

I know trucks are expensive and all that... but he's gunna get 20 bikes on that thing at least... at £500 a pop that's oooo, let me see, ....ten grand per trip. Feck. I'm in the wrong business. 
Yes, yes, I know. Drivers wages, board and lodging, derv, insurance, loan repayments, tyres and maintenance, all the taxes and stuff and yadda yadda yadda, etc.
But ten grand plus per trip. Hmmmm....
At least he doesn't have to worry about joining the AA with all those 1200s aboard. Bound to have a few BuMW Assist cards stashed under the seats.

I am sure it is a great idea for the times when we were all "cash rich and time poor" like over the last few years.
Now loads of us are "time rich and cash poor" then £550 just seems too much for me. Plus even with cheap flights, pissing around at airports and everything, I am sure you would be around £700 down by the time you were reunited with your bike
I did enquire about them taking my bike but the ferry to Spain is £190 return in April and riding a bike through Spain is hardly a disaster.
Now if it had been £250, I'd be onboard

If you lived closer. For me though it makes sense -
The north to Algeciras via Plymouth Santander
2,300 miles round trip which at 50mpg is about 210litres of fuel or £190
4 nights of hotels, say £20 a night, so thats another £80
4 Days worth of food, another £40
Taking Richeyroo's cheap ferry quote of £190 (I never found one that cheap)
So for me i'm already up to £500, thats before you put in all the other costs, half the mileage of a set of tyres, 19hours of vomiting on a boat (priceless!),road tolls etc.
But the clincher for me is the extra 6 days of holidays/days away from the family that i'd need. Going away on the bike is a selfish endeavour, i'll enjoy the trip more if I'm the one paying rather than the rest of the family.
£20 a night for a hotel is somewhat cheaper than I've ever been able to find.
What's the catch ?
Do you get a bed for that ?

Just an arbitrary figure used to make a point. You could have stayed in an F1 hotel for about £20 before the collapse of the pound. Rooms usually used by the hour in our local one
Who'd want a hotel room for an hour?
Fifteen minutes would be plenty.

A friend of mine lived opposite one of these type of lodging houses in Amsterdam and we timed the people using them, like you do when you are sitting in the front room overlooking these places with a beer in your hand.
12 minutes seemed to be the norm.
