So I hope to meet a Top Tosser :thumb

As per my PM Bill... will ride down on Sunday for the Bar-B-Q ... it is on Sunday isn't it

Sleeping bag, pork chops, sausage, crate of beer and bottle of Jameson's on the pillion ;)

GPS co-ordinates?

:beerjug:

See you there Robin :thumb

I may be up for this too. We'll see where I end up.. I run out of my invited accommodation after Thursday night and may be chasing the 'not rainy' spot up North.

I'll put the Location in my GPS and keep an eye open for you if I do show up.

Hopefully we should be up for it. The weather looks a bit iffy, but we may be lucky like last year:)

Righty....got my pre-registration pack through this morning, with some free earplugs and a couple of yellow stickers for the headlight on the bike.

Looks like we'll be herded into separate areas at Dunton (which given there may be 5000 bikes has to be done!) and those with yellow stickers get priority starting, so it's unlikely that we'll all be able to meet up at Dunton.

Ford Dunton is, as mentioned above, on the Southend Arterial (A127) and the entrance to the plant is off the big roundabout at N51 34.983 E0 23.561.

EDIT..... Meet starts at 8.30 and there are brekky vans on site plus a stunt show...pre-registered bikes start leaving at 11.
We'll aim to get there by 8.30 to meet up :)

There's a slim possibility we'll be able to meet up at Dunton- I'll be a tall Ginger twat on a Silver 1150 GSA with enormous black panniers with Moto Morocco stickers on, with a short, er, well built lady with bright pink hair on the back....

Otherwise, keep your eyes open on the route (60miles so ffs make sure you have enough fuel ) and speak to any GSer you come across....failing that, and most likely though, we'll meet in Harwich.

I'm about to PM my address to all who have said they might come...my mobile number is 077 9595 4449 if there are any problems but my flat is five mins walk from the end of the run in the old town, and far enough out to be fine for parking.

If you see the Moto Morocco landrover parked on the road, don't worry, that's going to be just round the corner from me but it's not at my address (I'm leaving it on the road for obvious reasons)

Plan 'A' is that we meet at mine, park up, change shoes etc if you want and we'll walk into town from here to laugh at all the silly bikes and the Hardley Able-to riders (acting as marshalls.....well done chaps :thumb2) etc.

If you could let me know by return PM please if you're coming and want to use the flat as a base to walk in from we'll know to wait until you arrive....a moby number would be sensible too.

Also please let me know if you're BBQ'ing or staying over...my big gas BBQ is round at Rosie's and is a pig to shift, so I'll only do that if there's more than 8 coming, otherwise I'll just nip down to Aldi's on Saturday and get a bunch of disposables.....don't forget to bring a sleeping mat and bag in case the beds are gone, but there's a Somerfield just up the road to buy sausages and beer if you're not carrying any :)

PS Jaq gets first dibs on a bed 'cos she's promised to get her norks out :D

(Rosie, I'm only joking ;) :kissy2 )

That's about it I think......fingers crossed for good weather!!

PM sent, Bill.

Hope to meet the rest of you there! I imagine I'll be the only person there in a bright yellow Aerostich ... Even if I wear something else, it'll certainly involve some Dayglo.

You ain't gonna believe this, but Rosie has a bright yellow 'stich as well.

:D

i will be at Dunton 10 30 ish to meet fellow tossers, will look for them big black panniers,if you have any spare moto morocco stickers to fill my panniers i will gladly advertise your wonderfull company
see you sunday

Sod's law isn't it :spitfire

Last night my left knee flared up with a nasty gout attack (pissing me off too....I haven't had a drink since beginning of August!!)

I'm still going to come along if I can stand/ride, but from this morning and previous attacks it's going to take me a good hour to straighten my leg and
stop crying from the pain, so I can't see us getting to Dunton too early.

I'm determined to make ith though, but 8.30 ? :nono

Will be there as soon as I can, but as a worst case scenario everyone's still welcome to park here and I'll sort grub for any who want to stay (looking at weather it may be a big vat of spag bol but we can take that as it comes)

Fekking purines

I'm still dependent on the weather improving slightly. It's atrocious here at the moment.

Is Essex still peeking out above the water?

Sorry to hear about your knee. I'd offer to take Rosie on my bike, but two yellow 'stich suits? That'd just look silly!

Now you guys are really making me feel better about running away from your green island like the weather wimp I am... :aidan

Cost me 400 kms of riding on Motorways through driving rain to do it mind.... :thedummy

Al...

It wasn't all that wet...

I've never ridden in a group anything like that size before. Until they thinned out (as much as they did, which wasn't too much) it took a lot of concentration. Lord knows how many more would have turned out if the weather had been better.

Harwich probably looks better in the sunshine...

Definitely worth a meet up next year, and it must raise a lot for the Air Ambulance. (I've told them that now I've paid the fee, I expect them to detour to Kent if I need them.) I got caught it one brief rainstorm on the way up, and some more prologued rain coming home, but actually arrived home in bright sunshine.

Thanks for the parking and tea, Bill and Rosie. And good to meet the rest of you, too. :thumb2

Great day apart from the rain. Agree, should be another meet up next year.

Biil and Rosie great to meet up with you and thanks for the parking and the coffee. Got to say its the first time I've ever seen a landrover jumped started off a GSA. To the rest of the lads again great to meet up and thanks.

Cheers

Thanks for coming along chaps......my eyeballs have nearly stopped bleeding after seeing Robin in his ever so skin tight underwear :D

We'll have to get a bit more push going for next year's event- for a bike that's sometimes called the clitoris because every c***'s got one there were actually very few GS's on the road :D

I'll post final figures if and when we get to hear them, but the first reaction was that they really ought to make it a £10 entry fee rather than £5...it's well worth that both as a day out and as a good cause IMO and the £5 was much too cheap :)
