Bimmer Panniers - Dontcha Just Love the Build Quality?

Rode home from work yesterday to discover that one of the cross-bar retaining bolts on the pannier frames had disappeared. Not really impressed as they were a factory option on the 1200GS ADV and it's only done a few thousand miles. Still it's my own fault - I guess I should have PDI'd the thing myself

I'm now trying to track down some suitable replacement fastners. Anyone know where I can procure a flanged panhead torx bolt and a matching self-locking nut. Nut head is a 10mm the bolt length is about 20mm; thread seems to be an M6.

Build Quality !

This particular Issue is nothing to do with Build Quality .
Your Panniers Operate in Essentially a Harsh Environment
they are subjuect to a constant vibration , and can suffer
fastener failure unless the fasteners are regulary checked at the begining of their
operating life
Some of the Better Pannier sets offer an isolation Rubber mount
which helps immensle , but does not eradicate the need to check.

It may /may not be recomended by some !

But "Blue" Loctite is the adhesive of choice.
