Biologic Bike Mount for iPhone 4

Neat case and good features, but I'm not really liking the mount. Wonder if there's a decent way to bolt a RAM ball to it?

They're using similar concept to RAM EZ-Strap for pedal bikes, will if fit or can you swap .. :nenau you may have to drill hole in the case to attach a ball base, RAM-B-238 or RAM-B-309-3 (ball on post with countersunk screw) to have any chance for a :moped:

I have the Tigra BikeConsole for the 3GS, it's exactly the same as the Biologic model but cheaper.

Its a good case, the mount is not bad either... I wouldn't trust it off road though but for tarmac it's fine. I'm not convinced about the closing mechanism on the older 3GS version so I use a ranger band just in case it opens. However, the closing mechanism looks a lot better on this newer version.

Judging by the pictures of the iphone4 Tigra,
http://tigratechnology.com/BikeMount_iPhone.htm
there is no room for a charging cable.
One of the attractions of the Biologic is that it allows you to attach a charging cable.

Your absolutely correct - well spotted. :thumb2 I couldn't believe it and had to check... what an incredibly stupid oversight! Especially as it was on the previous model.

Not that I have an Iphone4 yet but having no charger option is a deal breaker - Biologic it is then. The new Tigra mount is clearly intended for the cyclist?

Yes, intended for cyclists, but should be fine mounted out of windblast. I intend to use it on both my bicycle and bike.

Anyone intending to use it on a bicycle may like to look at this:

It is great for sussing out off road routes. Also works on ipad.

Hi did you manage to find a suitable mount? The biologic standard mount connected to a flexiarm of some type would be great to avoid looking down too much. Not sure I want to go drilling holes in it.

I haven't done squat yet. It's not been above freezing here for over 6 weeks and we still have an assload of snow on the ground so I haven't done much relating to bikes. Supposed to get above freezing this coming week though so that might light a fire under me to get some stuff done.

Guys,
I'll be selling the improved iphone4 version of the Biologic case later this month and will have a more robust motorcycle handlebar mount available to clip straight on the back.
Let me know if you want one and I'll order a few more.

Website not up and running yet but will be this month.

Yes there is a headphone jack with seal top left.

There is also a lense for the camera.

The case can still rotate landscape or portrait with the m/c mount fitted.

Thanks Stubbs & others who have expressed an interest.

I'll advise when the website is up and stock of the ibikeconsole is about to arrive. I only have 20 m/c mounts in my first order so I would advise contacting me early.

These should be arriving 2nd week in March.

Nearly all of my stock is for the iph4 but I also ordered 5 x suitable for the iph3. If any of you want one for the iph3 let me know early and I'll put one aside.

Just my two penneth..

I had the earlier biologic 3g version which I mounted on the old VStrom and it was a good case but had a massive design flaw in that the tiny metal pin that is used for the top hinge would fall out from vibration and I almost lost my phone on one occasion. It never got used again.

This latest Biologic for iPhone 4 looks much sturdier and they have obviously listened to feedback from their earlier version.

The mounting bracket and loop seemed to work very well for the time I had it on the VStrom but I do think a ram bracket attachment option would be better to minimise the risk of the case wiggling free of the mount on longer rides. Using some strong epoxy and a ram ball joint, you could probably custom build a stronger mount.

Hi Torq,
I raised this with the manufacturer and they assure me it was an early batch problem on the first model. I'd not heard of the problem before.

The motorcycle mount is more sturdy than the one supplied for bicycles and as you say fitting a RAM mount would involve glueing (or drilling).
