Bit ghey, but you don't know if you don't ask

I've done that, I didn't drop the bike but just stood there crying for 5 munutes:tears

Yes, I did it in Norway at a filling station that had a sloping forecourt.

Bike was heavily laden and the 30 litre tank was full; I had a job getting it off the centrestand. So a mighty heave and it bottomed the suspension as the sidestand landed on my foot.

I thought I'd broken all the toes on my left foot - Jeeeeeze it was painful

All was OK though - just bruises and a funny walk for a day or so :thumb

OK, so as a fledgling gs'er got a question that could be conceived to be a bit ghey to ask!

Having just got the bike (yesterday) and already been caught out with the weight of the bloody thing (once past that point) upright. I am a bit dubious about putting it on the centre stand. I DO NOT want to drop the thing on the second day of ownership!

Any tips? How do you do it, I'm scared stiff! So it stays on the side stand for the mo.

For the best advice look in the you-tube and you will find the right way how to do it:thumb

Thanks to all who contributed. I am now a lot more confident putting the bike both up and down.

Fantastic, valuable advice, better to ask than learn by your mistakes sometimes!

Cheers
