Bit of a long shot?

Top Box Pillion Rest
Is there anybody out there who can point me towards getting hold of a pillion back rest designed to fix to the front of the stock BMW black system top box? Looked all over the place without a result. Saw exactly want I wanted last month on another Beemer parked up waiting for the ferry back from Dublin - spoke to the guy - but he said it was already on the bike when he bought it S/hand!!
Any suggestions / pointers / or offers? would be very welcome.

I know GIVI do a back rest for their Top Boxes. I have one on my MAXIA 52. Any good bike shop should point you in right direction, (I think)

hi mike,have you tried the search on this site for backrest
but as i am a nice guy and you are a newbie :
there is abackrest from bmw that fits on the lower part of the topbox NOT the lid.
get it from bmw or motorworksetc.
some parts people dont know ask them for backrest for k1100 topbox if they say there isnt one
heres a pic of my bike.it is the lower black backrest.NOT the on fixed on my lid.
the backrest comes curved to the shape of the box,i think i had to drill through the box because the backrest has two 6mm threaded studs on.

have a look at this link, I managed to buy one of these back rests a couple of years ago.
They aren't too expensive anyway, but with the dollar so weak against the pound sterling it could be a good time to buy

I bet they're better than the 'rider' back rests on the our old AA Pans, eh Andy?

hi ,yes the sargent ones are ok,not sure if they are worth nearly fifty quid thoughalthough the finish is great.simple pad really.
i did consider just finding one from another topbox or making one.

if you look at my pic you will see i had one fitted
got minefrom http://www.calamander.co.uk/ in 2002 when i got a free sargent seat
not sure he still supplies or you need nnorman.
i removed it when i changed topboxes.
just the job to adapt to fit.

Backrest

Big thanks to all for leads / pics. You're such a helpful bunch out there. Going to see if my BMW dealer can source a backrest (for K1100?) as suggested by Colt. Ideally I'm looking to fit something to the front edge of the lid, as opposed to the lower part of the box.

mike, the backrest i had was the lower backrest only.
the problem i also had was to find a pad to fit the lid.
so i ended up getting a sargent one, and that went on my adv ali topbox

the top pad for the k is an enourmous thing ,meant to hold speakers
as in this pic
the k is the bike in the middle
