Went to Motorrad Central's 12 GS SE launch an played on all the toys without any intention of trading my 06 GSA

K1300 GT - lovely and fast - lots of toys, loved the ESA and really loved the cruise control but would not be any faster in the real world on my GSA - ruled out

1200RT - nice. really nice but lacking in character. also ruled out

Spec'd up my ideal GSA and would cost WAAAAY to much to change then was offered their demonstrator at £2500 off list with ALL the toys. Went for a test ride to see if a fresh (1300 miles) GSA is any better ....

Is faster than my GSA which has full sports system and Techlusion/K&N.
Traction control works - on sports mode it only came in at the very limit
ESA - nice! comfort is like my bike is now (worn shocks obviously), Normal is nice and taut and sports is, well sporty.
On board computer - what I would have had on mine had I not bought used - nice.

Weekend deal was buy a new one and get free panniers and racks so I get the racks but not the panniers.

Guess what? I'm picking it up on Saturday. With a cost price BOS full system and new tyres.

Spent 4 hours removing all my shit from the old one and it will all fit on the new one - result!

One question remains: Should I refit Civil's BIG panniers or buy a set of BMW's and have an easy scooter mode option?

I reckon you should be getting the panniers. That bike comes with the rails fitted anyway, go back and get the panniers.
Health to enjoy it:thumb

Am trolling ebay as we speak looking for 2nd hand ones ....

I'll keep Civil's as they are so good that I'd use them for longer trips despite the hassle of swapping them over
