Myself and a Honda riding friend took a long weekend break to the Pension Williams in the black Forest last weekend. Day 1 on the Thursday saw us hit by very high winds which eased off after 70 miles and then turned into lots of rain. A big detour saw us arrive at 2230 Hrs. No pictures on this day.

A lateish rise (I was trying to get to breakfast as late as possible as I am a lazy bugger) saw some decent sun which was much welcome to dry our togs out. The view from the balcony saw other (dry) guests getting ready for a run out. The chap at bottom left is so excited he is riding a virtual bike.

The scenery from the B500 is absolutely stunning as is the road itself. It could do with being longer though.

Not the B500 but this road is typical of the area.

In the valley to the east of the B500 we found yet another lovely road.

After a run on the B500 and surrounding roads we took a quick blast over to the Rhine.

On our return to the UK we avoided all Tolls. Crossing a Col (I think it was the La Bonhomie) west of Colmar we came across this bikers haunt.

It was full of bikes, honest, but they all cleared off just before I took the photo.

Finally. Heres what the front of a bug splattered GS looks like after three days riding.

Good points from the ride.

Pension Williams and the Honesty bar.
The B 500
The D roads in France

Bad points from the ride

The price of fuel. Its more expensive than the UK
The price of beer in a restaurant is horrendous
Those stupid toll roads where you seem to be stopping every half hour. Removing your kit to get some money then putting it all back on again.

Roll on the next trip.

Forgot this pic. A detour near Bar Le Duc took us on this delightful little road.
