I have a proposal and a completed set of hotel bookings for 1 extra person for a trip from Saturday 29th August until Friday 4th September. Meet point on Saturday first night Verdun, just south. Heading east into Germany and the B500 and other neighbouring roads. Heading then back via Les Vosges south, then heading to Chablis and ending on Thursday in the town of Montreuil sur Mer and at the outstanding hotel and restaurant Les Hauts de Montreuil. Average KM per day around 320.
Any interest please send me a DM and I can share some more details.

Would have loved to have joined you on that Grant but malheuresement I shall be en route home from the Island!
Have a good trip!

You maybe need to clarify whether the trip is reinstated to its original dates (Saturday 29th August until Friday 4th September 2026) or held over until sometime around June 2027.
Same original dates in August / september this year.

OK, thank you.

I’ll edit the thread to remove the cancellation and its subsequent postponement / reinstatement to June 2027. I’ve put the 2026 dates into the title and highlighted them in the opening post, too.

And just to note that should anyone now wish to join they will have to make thier own arrangements as there are 2 of us so the reservations are covered

Oh dear. I'm already sorting out a trip (for myself) around the same time. But going via Holland. Who knows, we might pass along the way :)

You’ll maybe need to post in the thread, the name etc (website) of the hotels, so bods can make an enquiry as to whether rooms are available and / or to make their booking(s). From running the Wanders, I found the more you can do to assist people, the more likely they are to join. In essence, you have to ‘sell’ the trip to the punters, all be it it’s a ‘Not for profit’ affair. Yup, it takes time, but it works.

There’s a basic guide in the Travel section. It’s a bit old and probably needs updating, but it’s quite handy to refer to.

Thanks but so far no takers and I’m not arranging any “Wanders”.
If anyone one still wants to join they can send me a DM and I’ll provide further details

Let me know as I will be heading south from The Hague towards Verdun on the Saturday. Where are you heading and from which ferry?

Your message was a bit garbled but now is clear…..
I am heading to Verdun so your start in Germany won’t mean we will be heading in the same direction. Looks like a nice proposal though👍👍👍

Stena LIne from Hook of Holland. This is the route I'm trying to plan out

The Stena crossing is great on a bike as you are one of the first off as all bikes are on the lower deck, deck 3.
I came back last week but was the last car off the upper deck and it took almost 2 hours with all the immigration hassle. You still have to get off the bike and present in their little office. Good luck!,
