I phoned the hall caretaker and am pleased to report (at this stage at least) that there are no reports of doors off hinges, pished mattresses or stolen crockery. Although she hasn't been to the hall since we left, the cleaner has and has given us a good crit. Sadly, no wallets were found.
As well as telling the keyholder yesterday when I handed the keys back, I also let the caretaker know about the radiator in the kitchen being accidently damaged. I'm sure everyone agrees that honesty here was the only course open to us. I've also offered that we'll pay for any cost of repair. The hall is run by volunteers and IMO it would be a shame if they're left out of pocket for something that we caused (regardless of intent). Apparently, a local guy does their maintainance work and he'll look at this sometime this week. I also let her know that Rab confirmed that it wasn't fitted properly in the first place. Hopefully, it wont cost much (if anything) to fix.
It looks as if we'll be welcome again.
Is the Looney group in agreement that we'll all chip in for the repair if need be? I think that's the fairest way and it's too good a spot for future events than to have us banned for the sake of saving a few quid.
