Black Sea Rally 2009

Exelent report:thumb

Thanks for the good read and great pics, for some reason i thought the road signs would be in Cyrillic? As ive been to the Black sea in Bulgaria.:D

Its alot harder finding you way around when you dont even recognise the lettering.:blast

You obviously planned how you loaded up your bike and it worked out well.
The amount of gear you had, in those pack bags and rider, did yer bike proud:clap

Ride safe

Thank you very much.
As regards to different ABCs, same on my side. Been to Greece once by my car and that was terrible, too:blast
Yes, I planned the route as well as packing and they all worked well. The only problem at first was packing up the tent into its small bag which I got used to later on. I was happy with the bike on the rally, and always has been. Gone riding for a weekend. That was a real hardcore and riding it was such a joy. Two cylinder just seems to me as twice stupidity:blagblah
Ride safe and happily.
Cheers

You are welcome. Everyone is a good photographer, just give it a go with a little bit imagination. I am very sure that you have a much better camera than mine.
That was a real good ride. I have better plans for this summer:)
Ride happily, you all. Greetings from Türkiye.

Hey Vent, nice report. I'm off to Bodrum tomorrow, following the Aegean coast road....Ayvalik, Foca, Izmir, Seferihisar, Kusadasi, and Doganbey. I've only got two days but I hope I can put together a report as good as this. You've certainly made me want to follow the same route next year, perhaps even into Georgia.

Hi! there. I hope you are doing fine? Nothing can be seen or done in two days:augie
And it definitely won't be as good as mine:comfort, jokingly...
You may follow my route. And I can send you my GPS data with a bit advice whenever you need it.
By the way, I saw a Brit couple riding their Thumpy miserably
( A green Kawa, KLR, I think, with A British licence)
They are living here, I reckon. You know them?

Thanks for the offer of the data, I'll PM you with my email address.

I don't know any Brits with a KLR. There a few Brit bike owners here, but I've yet to come across any, other than L from here.

Edit: Just checked, can't send you a PM for some reason. I don't really want to put my email address on here so if I need the data I'll let you know in the future.

Not L, I know him. Around Taksim and Şişli I saw them twice. They were like beggers in old clothes on a terrible bike and I nearly thought they needed some assistance. But they weren't carrying any sidecases or packbags...
Next summer, I hope to take Cappadocia with Taurus highlands and some Mediterranean. Join me. Keep this in mind.:thumb

I agree with 'Popeye' I hope next time i visit Turkey, it won't be on one of our 'Dashes', the Asian side looks a lovely place to explore:thumb2

Many thanks for taking the time to post up your trip:thumb2

Good planned packing is an integral part of any road trip..:augie.

As for my packing it changed every time i unloaded my 1100. i was never happy:blast

A bit more testing of luggage placement, is to be done on my next road trip:D

And more pictures, you must have a good storage on your laptop and camera for all those pics:thumb2

Dead true. I almost used everything I carried. But I think I need a pair of sidecases. Though they are not practical in traffic or offroad, is a must on touring.
Yeah, I am a bit techy guy.
Ride Safe.

Only found this thread tonight and was blown away by the amazing scenery and roads. Am a 05 650GS rider and am totally jealous of your trip. Thanks for the effort you put into the report.
