black tank panel colour

Does anybody know the offical colour name and number designation for the black tank panels on a GS.
Fancy changing my grey/silver ones. Have mate who can do a professional re-spray. Cheaper than buying new.

Good shout. I was going to do mine desert yellow but cant find the paint anywhere in a can.

sorry perhaps didn't make the part clear....its the large platic removable panels not the small aluminium ones. Think the technical term is Soft black but would like to know any tech numbers....

id swap my black plastics (tank panels) for silver/grey ones as I have a graphite GS and the grey panels make it look fatter... they are in perfect condition

Paint codes

I started a thread looking for help in finding colours for my frame and handlebars. After a bit of digging I found this site which is pretty comprehensive (http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/paintcodes/whites.htm). My local automotive paint supplier recognised the code and mixed a spray can for me.

id swap my black plastics (tank panels) for silver/grey ones as I have a graphite GS and the grey panels make it look fatter... they are in perfect condition

swap would be a great solution, but unfortunately I've some damage on mine, but open to suggestions and offers.

useful site, but R1200GS doesn't appear in the Matt black categorie. Think the colours quoted refer to the bikes primary colour.....but a good guide

I have a black 07 12Gs the paint code under the seat is 716. I take it that this is for the black front fairing and the top tank panel
