Blagged a ride on an 08, my thoughts.

Not had the light out to look at the rear contacts as yet so can't confirm.

Can't see the tank fitting as the entire front subframe of the 08 GS has changed as has the body work.

The 08 GSA uses the same bodywork, tank and panels as the previous bikes.

The new easy to fill GS tank would extend the range a bit you know :augie:aidan

NO it doesn't :augie

A friend tells me his beak panel has holes on the side that an 06 does not. My friend was out with his friend on Sunday and his friend spotted loads of differences. Like no plastic cover for the starter motor. They parked the 06 and 08 bikes next to each other whilst at a cafe, and started spotting for differences. I bet that was fun .. although I wouldn't know :augie

As it was my friend that told me .. I wouldn't know if it was 100% accurate :augie

I ain't talking about the beak I'm talking about the tank and its panels :rob

Kiwi, where did you get your information from? I asked that very question of th eUK BMW Technical department and receved the asnwer that the '08 GS and GSA models use the same gearbox and final drive ratios. These do differ from the pre '08 GS, but were used in the '07 GSA.

pre '08 GS FD ratio = 2.82:1
'08 GS and GSA FD Ratio = 2.91:1

I am not trying to start a p*ssing up the wall contest, just curious whether I have been given incorrect information.

It is unlikely to make much difference to me, my new GSA with Enduro 'box is due over the next two weeks :bounce1
