Looking for a blank mount for the XT2 that I can use on test rides. I have a ram mount set up and clamp, but just need a simple blank/basic mount for the xt to clip into (no power required as it will be on battery power). I just need the front plate it clips into and the rear that has the ability to be gripped by A ram extension arm. Where do I look or search?

thanks for the link...It must include the ability to mount to a ram clamp....so the blank plus screwed in ram ball I guess

Chat GPT says:

don’t need another RAM arm or powered Garmin mount. You need the XT2 cradle itself, with the standard 4-hole AMPS pattern on the back, so your existing RAM arm can attach to it.

The good news is that this is available separately.

The part you want

Garmin zūmo XT2 Motorcycle Mount Bracket — part number 010-13285-01

It is the XT2-specific cradle, and the rear has the 4-hole AMPS mounting pattern. The power cable is a separate item, so you can use it completely unpowered.

There is also a particularly inexpensive option in the UK:

Garmin/Touratech XT2 replacement cradle, part 01-065-1411-0 — £19.00

This is described specifically as the replacement cradle without cables and mounting adapter, and it accepts RAM accessories.

What I’d buy in your situation

I’d go for the £19 01-065-1411-0 cradle. It sounds like it is almost exactly what you’ve described:

XT2 → blank cradle → 4-hole AMPS plate → your existing RAM arm/clamp

No wiring, no power cable and no unnecessary RAM hardware.

One important point: make sure it says XT2, not the original Zumo XT. The cradles are model-specific.

If you show me a photo of your existing RAM arm/clamp, I can identify the exact RAM plate/ball that will bolt directly onto the back of this cradle, so you don’t buy anything you already have.
