HI,I've just joined and as its late and i don't even know if this message will appear as i havn't paid anything yet,
Question is i've been trying to bleed my mates GS1100 as he has had the calipers refurbished but the front break lever still feels a bit spongy (breaks are working but travel of the break lever is about an inch off of the handlebar on the first pull),could it be the ABS unit (never had this problem on bikes without ABS even after replacing new hoses)
Also what is the correct procedure that should be used including any special equipment please.
Regards Len

Sponge sorted

Hello,my mate says the break is now sorted, we pumped it a few times and tie wrapped the lever back over noght, seems to have done the trick.

Had the same thing on my non-ABS 1100 GS after the hose were changed, and I could only fix it using a mityvac vacuum device, the pumping could not do the job.

Dan.
