Need more light on your amazing steed ?
Still dark and heading to Starbucks ?
Help is at hand .

Are the OE lights on the 1300 really that bad that you need these Denalis ?

No idea. Will have to wait till the darker months.

Must say I’m tempted. Like the light bar. Need to decide on the lights.

No they’re great, but 90% of the junk people bolt onto their bikes isn’t needed, more like just wanted :nod

Not my trip but each to their own
Yep
The bikes end up having more stuff strapped/bolted onto them than a tinkers donkey

But they will pay great attention to the weight of the bike when browsing their local showroom. Having made up their minds, they will part with a hefty wedge of 💷. Then spend a further hefty wedge on an aftermarket (full system) exhaust to reduce the weight by significant amount of kilos. Only to then bolt more stuff to their Starbucks Adventure Stheed only to return it to the original weight if not exceeed it. But then the bike is unique I guess. :blast

John Bailey Ex of this parish had some of those Denali spot light things on his old GSA - which we nicknamed Eyore because it was so slow and laden down with the entire touratwat back catalogue

Travelling back from Portsmouth at night you could not have him behind you so blinding were the bloody things

Lorries on the opposite carriage way were flashing their lights and hooting at him because he was blinding them too

People are strange, ordering farckles, lights, luggage etc etc before they've even got the bike they've never ridden, often reducing a perfectly decent bike to something resembling a tarts handbag

I've never bothered adding anything to my Gs's over 15 years (apart from seat /luggage) - always been very happy.
This time with the 1300 I've gone to town.
Totally transformed the bike (for me) into exactly what I wanted.

Improved riding position and comfort, better handling (totally subjective), better sound and the best has been the addition of the Motolights from Lone-rider.
Absolutely game changer for night time riding on dark country lanes. Not many street lights in Devon and lots of deer. (y)

The one farkle I wish I'd added would be a super bright red tail light. Cars have them, it would be good if they could at least make them an optional extra.

See Denali rear light…
I fitted weiserwizard to rear of my 13gs to show the rear indicators better, and a third rear light that also acts as a brake light.
Recommended as it makes the bike more visible from the rear, and also makes the indicators more visible.
Safety upgrade imho, so not a “farkle” as such.

Thanks Bubb, I didn't know that you could buy purpose built sets. There's nothing worse than getting stuck in thick fog with no way of getting of it apart from plodding on hoping that you'll make it out alive.
