Hi, I ruined my weekend...I was planning to fit my new battery yesterday on my 1150GSA and:

1- the battery that I ordered Motobatt ( claiming that it would fit on m a 2005 ) is to big
2- While removing the QR, of course I managed to break the male one...:mad:
Now... I was planning to replace all the QR with the chrome-metal one but...
3- I swore in all the possible way to remove only one hose clamp, I used a small flat screwdriver to loose them a bit but to remove it from the hose it took 5 min...

Now, I am aware that I don't have the right tools but, what is your best advice to remove the others left? If I had such rough moment with only one, I cannot imagine what will be for the ones attached to the tank....ARMAGEDDON!!!
For today I am done, I feel that I need few kegs :beer: to make this Sunday, finish as smooth as possible.
Thanks for all your precious advices.

I took my hose clamps off by cutting them with side cutters across the crimped bit - not going to reuse them.:D

The rest is pretty typical if advice off here ignored?
Get a few spare o rings for those male chromed Q Fits as they can get damaged easily.

Been there done that.

Welcome BTW

You'll find that the new ones are Male = metal Female = plastic... so you'll end up replacing the female with one the same ( Did the same job last week)

This is what I was thinking...cut them off and that's it, I won't reuse them too, I will get for sure some O-rings, it is appalling that the popular e-shops sell those O-rings as gold.
What's your advice for the male? Some say lube other say no..

I registered a while ago to this forum, used passively for all the precious info, now in need of some help before I get insane.

Can't PM you ... you need to be a subscriber ;)

Well, well, well....if I get a god deal, I will subscribe straight away...:JB:JB
Only joking...
The one you got are male made of metal, right?
Let me see if there is any chat facility in here.

Here's a plan.... If you become a subscriber ( well worth it now and in the future) We've not fallen foul of forum rules.... I've got two pairs of QR connectors and some spare jubilee clips you can have at VERY reasonable cost ;)

The spares are PLASTIC ones though ..... not OE either

If you go to BMW they'll cost around £68 for the two complete QR's... If you want to go metal then you'll have to stick with BMW

i can have these in tomorrows post if you want to try them

Sorry to tempt you with my original post... didn't check if you were a subscriber when I put it on :blast

No worries, I know being a subscriber it is worthy, planned to do it a while ago, but lazyness always prevail...
Let me evaluate your offer, the full metal set for a GSA from a well established US supplier is about 110$ P+P, they also advice to get an extra angled one for $35, but I don't see the use for it.
I am doing my figures  and I will let you know.

P.S. any O-rings eventually to trow in?

Easier to show you ;)

2x 8mm fuel line Quick Releases.... the story is that I ordered these, duly arrived and I had some issues with them, so they were replaced.....meanwhile I desperately needed to get on the road so bit the bullet and paid for OEM ones...

So I'm left with these.... one packet unopened, one has been on and taken off again ( no issues with that one btw) (BTW I find the original equipment clips are easier to put on than the jubilee ones shown)

If you want to take a chance £14 for the lot delivered to your door ( 1st class)

How's that sound ?

If you'd rather do the BMW think no worries :thumb

Don't go the yank way, stuff seems cheaper, then when it arrives you are hit with import duty and extortionate handlers fees.

Generally stuff for sale and buying from that forum is for subscribers only, so in theory what is been offered for sale is outside of forum rules.:thumb2

Wow...you know how to make money, well done.
Your offer is unmissable, in order to send you the money, I have to subscribe first, right?
Can I use PPal here to subscribe?

Read my posts .... Condition is that he subscribes .... just trying to suggest a way to get him sorted out quickly and cheaply ;)

One more thing...I know I am such a noob :P to remove the broken part I used two pair of pliers, one to hold the hose the other one to pull, it wasn't a easy pull...
What's the best procedure?
And to put them back, will it be worst?
Better buy a new bike :D:D

That'll probably do it anyway.... its got to be a tight fit... hopefully the ones you put on will go on easier than off ....

Would suggest the crimp type OE clips over the jubilee ones though......;)

PM'd you BTW
