Bloody Garmin Updates

Been trying to update my Zumo 550 for the last week or so. Tech help from Garmin not much use but managed to get this far. Trouble is the download has now stopped at this stage, has been like this for over 10 hours.

The question is - is the system still updating or is it buggered yet again.

I now regret buying the update and feel I would have better mapping casting the entrails of a freshly sacrificed goat than I am getting from Garmin. Least the goat would be useful as I could eat it.

If its any consolation, my 550 updated perfectly.

I would select "download maps to PC only" and after they download.. select them in mapsource, then download them to the 550....

Only consolation is I broke my wrist 1 week before departure and had to cancel my holiday which gives more time to beat the bloody unit into submission.

Loaded to computer and stuck transfering to sat nav. Left it on all day so three possible outcomes:

Success - improbable
Failure - highly possible
Burnt house down - hopefully unlikely
