i've been trying to figure how to connect a set of wireless headphones (bluetooth ?) to my phone for use on the bike, i would consider the use of moulded ear monitors, and the garmin zumo gps ? has anyone tried a similar system ?

Steptoe has made advances in fitting one to a helmet

But i can't seem to find the pictures

but i'm sure someone will post them

I use an iTech Clip headset and it fits nicely into a Schuberth S1. This pairs nicely with the Zumo/phone.

YMMV......

I use these. They work very well and fit into my lid nicely. AND, they're only 25 sqids!

Are they over the ear jobbies Atkule?
Presumably with the controls on the actual ear-piece you cannot choose to answer calls or anything like that, if you're listening to music, it's automatic or nothing? Where the mic? Can you have a conversation on the bike? What's the battery life like?

So many questions.. :nenau

Yes they are but they fit in my lid (Sport integral) behind the lining with hooks still attached.

Yes, Auto or nothing.
Where's the mic?
It's in the right hand earpiece
Can you have a conversation on the bike?
No due to the mic being covered up in the lining. But if it's SWMBO, she know's and can just shout "call me" or just tell me zummat. If not set to auto it still rings (and cuts the music) so you can stop (as one should ;) ) and call back
What's the battery life like?
It's good, around 6hrs of music.

So many questions.. :nenau
Indeed and so many answers :D
I am contemplating, when/if I get time to dismantle them to component parts and fit permanently to my lid with all the gubbins on the outside so I can recharge them (1.5hrs'ish from empty via USB port only) without having to remove them (although, removing is not difficult). AND, moving the mic up front so callers can actually hear what you say (after I have stopped somewhere suitable ;) and can then converse without taking off me lid). Maybe. For now I just hear it ringing and stop to call back.
Happy now? ;)

Very happy.. :bounce1
I was thinking along similar lines of maybe fitting it permanently to my helmet.
Last question, I promise: Where's the USB charger port? It's also on the ear-piece too, right? I presume you could use a miu-usb to mini-usb cable to move the charhing point outside of the helmet (if such a cable exists)..

Hah.. So many more questions..

Correct, see pic for location. It's a small female usb slot

Comes with its own USB standard to mini cable for charging.

Hah.. So many more questions..
Happy to oblige :thumb

P.S
For anyone thinking along similar lines, Maplin also sell a bluetooth transmitter (hover over thumbnail to see bigger pic) so you could rig up any audio device with a 3.5mm jack plug socket to play moozac on yer woireless edfones in yer elmet :thumb2

why are they wires from the headphones. :nenau
Is the whole point of blue tooth to get ride of the wires

I presume to send the signal from one earpiece to the other, so the bluetooth receiver and controls are on one earpiece, and sound is transmitted to the other..

Sh1t.. Just thought of another question.. Where's the on-off button?
Would this be difficult to get to after permanent installation?

The on/off button is the centre one of the ipod stylee panel. Big round one on the top earpiece in the pic. Press n hold to activate. They are a snap together construction and I reckon the buttons are probably on a flat PCB so would be ideal for sticking on the outside of yer lid.
Please note I am only educatedly guessing here! I have a set but i arn't taken them to bits yet. If I do I'll be sure to let yers know how it goes :thumb2
