Hi all,

After some advice, guidance etc

I was thinking about buying one of these: http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/viper-rs-v151-bl-flip-up-black/

However i was trying to find out if they are compatible with other non integrated bluetooth systems like sena/scala. ideally i am looking for this to be compatible with my mates systems etc before i go out and buy one.

Has anyone got any experience of the viper bluetooth helmets and if so what are their limitations and good points.

Thanks
Rob

No idea about Viper, but I think I'd rather have the option to change comms without changing helmets.

The new Sena apparently pairs up with most of the other makes on the market at present - so could be the way to go.

hmmmm. this doesn't look good quality , the range at 400/800 m is very small and i bet that is even exaggerated….! if you get 200 m in reality you will have done well , but thats not a good distance ,you will be real close to your friends. you need it to work over a couple of KMs to be honest, but that will depend on where you are , City buildings, Mountains etc all drown signals

The std for bluetooth comms is A2DP..if this works with that it will communicate with your mates. if it dont , your wasting your time . At the price of the lid id say it won't be a good set up ..The Market leaders in my opinion are SENA. there equipment is superb . it will cost more than the lid just for the Sena Bluetooth SMH10 , but its well worth it

Thanks for your comments, do you know which bluetooth systems allow for multiple channel bluetooth? for example, i want ideally to have my phone, satnav and intercom all connected at the same time.

cheers rob

Hi All,

Further to my last post does anyone know id the sena SMH10 can do 4 way conferencing and at the same time have my phone and satnav connected? i appreciate it says it will do all these things, just wondered if it could do them all at the same time.

thanks
rob

yep the SMH 10 will do this but its not as simple to set up …Pair the phone to the sat nav first , then pair the nav to the Sena….this way when your listening to the nav and the phone goes, it drops the nav signal to allow the the phone to connect ..when you finish the call ..end it and the nav raises its volume again …same with another send user…pair the phone and nav together first ,then pair the two bluetooth units and speak away …takes a few attempts to get it right…when they are all paired up ,the next time they are urned on, they just connect seamlessly
