Keep getting a Bluetooth connectivity failure with either phone or BT module for Autocom (BTM-02).

Started out with just getting the 'phone all support has been disabled' due to losing BT connection but now I'm not getting anything but static through the headset.

See pics - can't understand why I have 'blue' music symbol but not headset on BTM-02....thought might be this unit but them I'm losing the phone as well so perhaps a Nav V issue ?

Anyone had similar ?

Will add images when I get home...

Does the phone connect direct to the nav 5 ?

Do you connect everything through the BTMO2 ?

My BTM failed recently so got zilch in headset

Phone connects direct to Nav 5, as does BTM-02. Little blue light on BTM keeps flashing ok. I've tried deleting and re-connecting the phone....I'll do the same with BTM0-02.

Following some advice from Sam at Chainspeed (who was great, thanks) - I cleaned off the jack leads to the BTM-02 and the Autocom main unit. I then appeared to get a consistent BT connection. However....it appears the main Autocom unit its knackered. On opening up - the power connector had green corrosion around the red lead. Took this out and cleaned it up with emery paper - checked it still had power going through it - it did. However.....nothing coming from the board.

So...appears that crap in the jack plugs was partly the reason but I suspect the dodgy power lead into the main autocom didnt help.

Need a new Autocom PCB :(

I've also had dealings with Sam at Chainspeed and he has put me right on a few things. My first Autocom failed, my own fault, I didn't follow his advice at first...... I knew better :blast ....so.... After purchasing just the main box from Sam..... No leads or anything else.... Approx £100, I did what he suggested I do to the first one, Strip of the outer case and coat the pcb both sides with lacquer to seal it should water work its way in. Hang it to dry then reassemble the outer case. :clap My old pcb is now with my good friend UturnTony who is repairing it and i'll have a spare.:beerjug:

Autocom - Another failed unit...

So - I sourced and purchased a Super Pro Automatic in January and has worked fine until last week.....Commute home for 45mins in absolute pissing rain.....now the unit is as dead as a dodo. I'd even sprayed the PCB with the lacquer stuff that a number of people had suggested on here. That's 2 units in less than 4months.....

The unit was fitted originally by a BMW dealer under the rear seat, there's little space anywhere else to fit it but the WC GS doesn't seem as resilient to water ingress under the seat as the AC previous models.

What mods have people used to protect their autocom / any comms gear under the passenger seat of a WC GSA ?

Does anyone know anyone that will repair the PCB's for a reasonable price ? I know the usual 'go to' person here is Sam at Chainspeed but the last quote was £90 from memory for a repair/replace and that's too much.

Got a replacement PCB from Sam and remembered to do BOTH sides of the board with lacquer this time (doh !). Still getting issues with the BTM-02 (I think) as it drops the media connection so the music drops out. Nav5 still happily talking away to me with directions and speed camera warnings but music drops (with accompanying message) every 10mins or so. Maybe one channel is knackered on the BTM-02 and the 2nd is fine ? Having just replaced the PCB - I'm a little reticent another £80 at a new BTM-02 to test my theory - any ideas ?
