I use Earfuze audio earplugs (http://www.earfuze.com/) with a Bluetooth device similar to this (http://tinyurl.com/y8qjhb9) which pairs to my Zumo 550. My problem is that the battery life on the Bluetooth receiver is not sufficient for a whole day. At the moment I have helped matters by fitting an external Li-Ion battery (which makes it look like an IED!)

So, I'm looking for a Bluetooth receiver with good (loud!) audio o/p, long battery life and 3.5mm o/p.

Any suggestions welcome.

TIA

Richard

would a Bluetooth device for a mobile phone be of use I use a Sony bluetooth thing with my mobile and Ipod touch and it has the 3.5mm socket on it, the battery life is good, not tried it all day but have used it over many days before needing to charge it up, the only potential problem is it has the "call" button which if you accidently hit cuts the music and you just need to weight till t comes back.
The model I have I got from the Ebay Argos store for 20 quid

it's this model

i have a jabra 3030 Here fantastic bit of kit i have had it for about 3 years and the battery is on its last legs but it charges off of usb and will also work while charging (unlike most bt headsets i have come across) it is plenty loud enough even though i wear a noisy syncrotec 2. you can even operate it with summer gloves on :thumb2

Hi Roddy. I've looked at this unit. 6 hours doesn't seem a very long battery life. I can't see any indication in the specs as to how it's charged.

Rgds

Hi what do you use to charge it? A USB plugtop charger?

Looks to be a good choice as replacement for my aged unit.

Cheers

just to throw another into the pot this one will last all week but has a funny charging socket it wont pipe stereo music from the sat nav. it does put sound into both ears just not proper stereo. i used to use it with a tomtom and a separate mp3 player.

looks like there is a new one out here dont know anything about this one but i think it may be my next bt gadget

Hmm

It does look as though the offerings from Jabra deserve closer scrutiny. Thank you for telling me about them. I'll look at the datasheets later.

Cheers
