Bluetooth System 5 _UPDATE PLEASE!!!

I had a B/T sys 5 helmet when they first came out but changed to the normal sys 5 helmet because I had many problems using the B/T bit (not communicating etc.

Now I've broken my helmet and was wondering if in the last 12 months they've got any better or sorted the problem out.

Is it worth trying another one?

I have a sony ericsson w850i phone and would like to B/T it to the helmet if poss.

Any ideas?

went to Parklane yesterday, and the woman told me they have stopped supplying the WCS-1 helmet because of the high rate of faults and returns. Not sure when they will start again, but the aim is that they will..

I thought that the Bluetooth bit was just an add-on anyway? (You can add the Bluetooth bits after. I've definitely seem my local dealer add the bits to a System V.)

Cannon BMW confirmed yesterday that BMW withdrew all the Blue Tooth kits for the System 5 two weeks ago last Friday. The instruction came in an email from BMW Head Office.

It is not a product recall, just that BMW Head Office have withdrawn all unsold stock. Warranty claims on devices already out there will be met as usual. In other words, if a customer's device works then that's OK, if it doesn't it will be taken back and a replacement made when the new kits are issued, assuming the device fails within the warranty period.

Cannon tell me that they sold about 24 since the device was launched and had about eight returns, a failure rate of about 1/3. They also told me that the new kits will be avilable in 'late 07'.

Mine, a brand new one, doesn't work. It charges up fine but the on-off button doesn't function, so I have no way of turning it on. I'm not much fussed as I know it will be replaced in 2007 or I will get my money back.
