BMF memba rally

For those of you that are thinking of going to the memba rally you might like to know that its not actually at the peterborough showground this year.

Somethings going on there at the moment, some sort of building work!!, so they're punting the campsite and entertainment down the road to some castle or house, and putting on a bus shuttle to and fro.

Not sure how honest they're being about it when you order the tickets. My mate ordered a bunch of tickets for our little group, then recieved a letter today telling of the changes. So far they don't want to give us a refund!!

I popped round to my mates last night and read the letter they sent him

It seems it could be a permanent new venue for the campsite!! In the letter they say its only a mile away as well!!



There is a back lane that looks like it goes straight into the show ground, but my guess is it won't be the route the bus's take as I doubt it'll be wide enough.



Only 2 bus's during the day, but 4 at peak times. Only 4!! There must be a couple of thousand campers normally at the May show.



There is dedicated parking for campers at a dedicated entrance, but how long before we'll all be sober enough to ride the 4 miles??

And if you've got tickets already, make sure you hound them for refunds, although my mates gonna see if his card company will refund the money.



The more negs they get the better.

it might actually be allright, you don't know until you've tried it, and if it's only a mile away across a track then I'll walk it, it should take all of ten minutes.

you can then catch the bus back with your shopping or call a taxi

I'm still going, but then I'm marshalling

Q: Exactly how far is the Memba Rally from the Showground?

A: We have done a test run from the showground to Elton Hall and it is 4.1miles from gate to gate and takes approx 6minutes to drive/ride. (If this journey is requested on a routefinder website it takes you via major roadways and can give various milage results from 5 to 6.8miles!!)
