The current firmware (BMW‑CRN‑20241123‑V1.0.5) has been quite stable for me, but still missing features I’d expect from a premium unit — especially compared to devices like the Zumo XT2.

Frequent map updates are great, but actual functional updates seem stalled.

➤ Has anyone heard from BMW Motorrad (or dealers) about the next firmware roadmap?

➤ What features would you most like to see added?”

I’ve had the occasional sync bug (needing logout/login to restore ride sync), but otherwise pretty reliable. Curious to hear if others are getting more from the CRN than I am.

I saw a post on the Facebook forum a few weeks ago in which someone had contacted BMW about an issue and had been told in an email that a 'big update' was coming at the beginning of October. IIRC he posted a copy of the email. We shall see.

I use my Carpuride most of the time but always give it a run out on tour as the wonder wheel functionality is far superior to the carplay unit.

I have always found it reliable as a stand alone navigation unit but it still lacks some basic functions that I would like to see and I'm not a demanding user, with no need of Siri searches or whatnot on the move.

My experience is similar to The Woodster as in their paragraph. I’ve just bought a car play unit with the intention of mainly using My Route App as my primary navigator.. Some more functionality please BMW, especially the ability to customise the display/info on the screen

I've had mine a few months now and after a steep learning curve i've finally managed to get to grips with how it works and interacts with the phone app. Overall its been reliable but still has a few issues.

a) the lack of an indexed manual doesn't help in my opinion which would be better than hopping around from article to article
b) there's no turn off auto recalculation which would be a bonus
c) place names seem difficult to read on the map IMHO, could be a lot better
d) the integration with the phone app is sometimes a bit fickle and delayed

I do like it though now i finally understand what its trying to do. I find it works best, for me anyway, with MRA.
