Hi everyone thinking of buying a 1200 gsa for every day use and long trips , what about all these problems i hear about, is it a good idear cheers mark

As the people say ... buy one (and ride it!)

OK for everyday (although some complain it is heavy for paddling around , I haven't found it cumbersome) and it is an awesome for longer trips.

The forum didnt stop me buying one in October, used every day in and out the city without problems. Remember people only moan when it goes wrong nobody posts when it does what its supposed to.

Having owned 4 1100gs and 2 1150gs I bought a new 1200 gsa in April of this year.I have ridden many thousands of miles on these bikes and experienced no problems at all.The 09 1200Gsa has done 15500 miles and has never missed a beat.Buy one now!

Bought mine in Feb, done 12000 miles all over Europe and city riding - and its the bollix, Not one problem although I get through tires hmmmm - Electonic Suspention is great, The brakes let you take the micky and its a laugh in the twisties and handles better than it looks like it should. I dot agree with the guys who say they slay sports bikes down the twisties but they dont half freak em out when they see you in the mirrors.

This is the first bike Ive kept for longer than six months and I now save a load of dosh on bike mags because I couldn't think of another bike that can do what the ADV does.

Started out on Sports bikes, did a short stint on Harley's, then bought a 1200GS, traded that in for a 1200GS Adventure. Top bike, and it's been said before you just want to keep on riding it, and always take the long way home. My view is get one, and you will not regret it.

The previous (bad) ownership experience didn't even stop me buying one last September and thatr's after having a 2004 model that had everything that can go wrong go wrong....

My GSA has just had it's 18000 service and has been almost faultless in the 15 months I have had it. The only fault being a corroded final drive which is getting replaced under warranty this friday. Otherwise it has been perfect and it is the longest I have ever owned a bike. Can't think of anything I would replece it with except another either. I fancy a KTM adventure or SMT but neither hits the mark with the Adv being too dirt biased and the SMT being too road biased (and having too small a range).

Got mine at the end of June, and after a slightly inauspicious start when the front shock failed after 150 miles, mine has been spot on for the last 11k.

I had a 2005 GS. It's been all over Europe and UK, used for fun and commuting. I had most of the known GS problems but LOVED IT. After 40 years of riding bikes for the first time I did not look at any other bike for its replacement, Now own an 09 GSA and love that too - it's a GS with attitude.
