BMW 49litre top box

I have just purchased a large top Box 2nd hand and I would like to remove the lid from the base in order to get it re-sprayed the same colour as my watercooled RT
I can remove the pillion cushion but that top hinges seem to be screwed from inside the liner. The hinge pins themselves seem to be burred over at the end is to hold them in place. Anyone any experience of removing this lid

Left the hinges in place on mine to have it resprayed- no silver visible. As long as they take care to mask carefully around them you should be okay.

Thanks for that information, but am I right in thinking it only shows how to remove the lower line and not the upper one? Anyway I'll take it apart when I come back from holiday on Saturday thanks again for the information
