Got the loan of a F800GS (detuned version 650GS)

Never ridden one before...................but what a corker

Smooth, cruised @ 90mph on the M1 with very little effort

Brilliant fuelling and so smooth

Makes the 12GS/GSA look like a right lardy crock

Next time I'm buying a bike......................gonna look at a 800GS

Lovely bikes....................BMW may get some of my money again for a new bike one day

I agree hence I asked you all those questions a month or so back :thumb2

My local dealer let me have an F800GS for the day last Autumn and I really liked it. Real fun and so different from my 1200ADV and I will no doubt get one in due course :thumb

Cracking bit of kit:D

I picked mine up last week and after a few initial doubts (years on a jap bike!),
am now a 100% GS convert. I love it every day:bounce1

So JB you've 'come out' :thumb

Welcome to the real world of a 'bike that does what it says on the tin :thumb

Save three or four grand over a 1200 and go have an adventure :thumb

The 800 will do everything the 1200 will do ..... but better :pullface

and at half the fuel cost!
(well almost):thumb2

It's the best all-rounder I can think of.
Tours, does twisty stuff quite well, enough 'go' for the Real World and can scuttle up rough tracks etc.
And if it gets scuffed or just plain manky I aren't going to burst into tears about it.

Luv mine to bits...

I agree, fantastic piece of kit, my yellow bumblebee (800gs) just gets better & better as i put the miles on it, 11 months on & 4100 miles later all my initial niggles are bedding in, engine smooth as silk now, riding position & general usability make it a great all rounder, it's a go anywhere (within reason), small enough for sneaking up footpaths & bridle ways & fast enough for motorway use. Thin enough for snaking through lines of traffic.. luv it to bits..
