hiya all, was just wondering if someone could tell me what the difrence is between a standard gs akrapovic can, and the one bmw supply, I remember seeing somewhere there was a difrence??, I know the actual cans are the same but is it just cosmetics ie stickers etc.????

Vines were doing £100 off the Akro pipe a couple of weeks ago :aidan

I've got a set of Remus headers for sale soon.

They fit the standard can and don't have a cross pipe to get messed up by the front wheel road grit. They are for the Mk2 but I'm told will also fit the Mk3.

Hilltop said they will release more power with a remap but with standard map only make a difference because the catalyst restriction has gone. A fancy can is all about looks and a little bit of weight saving.

I swapped mine for an Akra 2-1-2 because I'm vain and found it cheap.

IIRC the BMW one has the Akrapovic logo etched into the can whereas the standard Akrapovic can has a coloured sticker for a logo.

You also get a nice BMW booklet on care and maintenance :ronno

I must have an inbetweenie as mine has the etched logo and E stamp info, but no BMW markings.
