1) I bought a Windbreaker 3 Jacket at the Bikesafe show on Saturday and was allowed to change it for the size larger on display on Sunday. The staff could not have been more helpful.
2) I asked them on Saturday to bring in a System 6 in for the Sunday. They agreed but there was no sign of the helmet or any word of from the chap who should have organised it. The staff were concerned for his welfare and most apologetic towards me. I agreed to pop into Battersea on Monday and pick up a helmet at the promotional price. Guy patiently let me try on helmets for half an hour and I walked out a happy customer.
3) On Tuesday I walked into Battersea again to try a swap a pair of gloves bought on Saturday for ones a size larger. They were a run-out model and the next size would be a special order from Germany. I was disappointed but did not feel snubbbed, because they appeared to be straightforward and honest about the issue.

How very true, about 5 times more likely :augie... one reply, before this one, in 110 views on this thread and on the other thread @1000 views and 53 comments. (before it was removed)

Sorry i'm sort of disagreeing with you Bill, the above experience beemerboy had was no more than should be expected of any decent shop.
It's when some shop falls below that standard or goes above the normal shop service they then deserve praise or ridicule IMO

Now pinkytiff's tale about Vines is one to praise :clap http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192534 well beyond the call of duty:clap:clap
 
I have always enjoyed good service from BuMW's Park Lane and Battersea shops.

There again I have always enjoyed good service from TT, too. In fact, the only really bad service I have ever experienced is from Devitt (the insurance broker) and Thames Water, who are completely unlinked.

Maybe I am just lucky? Or maybe I make my own luck?

If it helps, what I have found is that instead of simply bleating or ranting at a sales assistant, a simple letter addressed to the enterprise's MD sorts out most misunderstandings in short order. A few pence for the stamp and envelope, then happiness all round..... Parking tickets, too. :thumb2

Agree with sort of disagreeing with you both, I think you`ll find that alot of the beyond call of duty stuff is not reported and I suppose why should it be.

Been in retail service for 30 years, for me its money back once twice then 3rd time card marked, name and number registered only once have I had to write to a lady saying sorry I could n`t server her any more because I was n`t up to her standards.

I have learn`t a lesson on here as I was a great sticker up for BOB at SPC, I`m just against the dealer getting bashed on this website.

Go to the BOSS, look him in the face, tell him your beef, poor girl on a till she`s just doing her best to keep her job.

Find a Service Manager, head of department just don`t expect any discounts.
