BMW Build Quality. Is it me...?

Then why do some fames have some, or al,l or none:confused:

The owners with bike with no holes should complain to the dealer:D Lets see what the answer is then:blast

It's shit welding, end of. Perhaps a hole should be there but not like that.

I am certain that BMW will see you right. They will be very ashamed that it got out of their door, let alone showing you Brits their balls up.

So your new to BMW motorcycles? :augie

Plus with Italian you're getting that indefinable thing called character, something WMB's have never really got a handle on.

Andres

Having owned an Italian bike for 7 years I always see 'character' as being broken down by the side of the road.

This is getting great.

Bods hunting around their bikes, looking for things to (maybe) get upset about.... But unsure where to look.

If they never find it, will the concern pass? Or will it linger, gnawing at their insides? Answers on a postcard, please.

Mr Wapping I ferkin lurv that one hahaha

People as old as me :D will remember when Japanese bikes were killing off the British bike industry - the old farts of the day kept muttering about the poor 'quality' of the welding on the 'Jap' bikes and how shoddy it was - who gives a stuff about how beautifully smooth the welds were on the British bikes when the engines were outdated, poorly manufactured using pre-war machine tools, leaking oil and breaking down every 10 minutes?

As long as the weld is structurally sound I don't give a shit what it looks like.

Each time I see a thread like this it makes me chuckle at all the pointless silliness.

So applying your logic if you bought a new bike and the paint job was pants and had runs everywhere you wouldn't be bothered? As long as it stopped the bike rusting you'd be fine with that?

I'm sorry but if somebody has a concern about their bike and asks about it on here what's the harm. FFS if someone pays a premium price they have the right to expect a premium job

Why respond if you think it's pointless/silly ?

Says the man who tied himself into knots over cable ties.

that was a structural issue - plain nylon cable ties rot very quickly in bright sunlight - don't think that welds do, or maybe I am wrong?

you must have a very different idea of "very quickly" to me :eek

The ones the feckers use to hang up notices on the lamp posts around London E1 seem to last forever..... And poke you in the eye :D

I do hope I haven't set him off again.
