Maybe sit this one out & see what's caused the failure, I'm sure they'll be on the case, give them time to evaluate & trace the problem, more than likely production error & may only effect a limited run of engines..

Me on the other hand, given up worrying, so blasting my GS WC through the Pyrenees & just lovin it, even in the rain.. I feel lucky to have this bike, bloody marvellous..

Phil, I rode the Pyrenees last year in hot weather with a group of lads from your area, (Notts) absolutely bloody fantastic, it should be on every bikers bucket list!

Enjoy!

Wow, couldn't agree more, just rode Pamplona to Andorra mostly on the N260 but took some shortcuts across the mountains in average 20c & sunny weather, I was thinking to myself i don't remember there being ANY straight bits at all.. Seemed to be either banked over, accelerating or braking, sometimes all at the same time, & the road just goes on & on & on, must be over 150 miles of continuos biking roads.. (10 hours with a few fuel & coffee stops)
But.. I'm laid here at 7am in Andorra hotel President, with swollen fingers/hands, pumped up forearms, aching shoulders.. 1 bleeding speed camera flash..
BUT..
I think I had the best fun anyone can have with a tank of fuel & a combination of Rubber & Tarmac applied reasonably sensibly..

But you know that cos u already did it..
& to anybody who's got a bike, any bike, add the N260 to your bucket list..

(Ps, Cam chain didn't let me down, one May assume at reasonably high RPM it may just smash into little bits or eject itself through the casing)

Enjoy..!

Whoops, the altitude must have fuzzled my brain, it was the Dolomites last year not the Pyrenees, that was two years previous, still a great ride in the Pyrenees though, enjoy it mate!

Then you will only have yourself to blame :D

Correct - and I would not have it any other way...:aidan

But seriously - there is a choice between some very interesting but slightly flawed European bikes in this segment, perfection does not exist. I will just make sure to pull over fast if it makes a loud rattling noise.

Cam chain failure - After weighing up the risk here...I just went out and bought a WC :aidan

Well done Steve!

I like people who take a few risks...they are usually much more exciting than Mr Average.

You won't regret it!
