Hi all, as the title says, I bought the original BMW can-bus charger for my previous bike, and it worked well with my 1200GS. Now I have made a step up, and bought a mint 1100GS.:beerjug::thumb

My question is; does the charger fits a non can-bus GS? - To use with auxiliary socket off course.. Or do I need to buy another charger?

The charger:

Then new mint 1100 GS :-)

Thank you

I did, but the chargers "progress lights" is only on "0" - it doesn't change. I guess it's because it's not can-bus?

Br Ulrik.

Kind regards Ulrik

I'd check that the socket on the bike isn't connected so that it's only live when the ignition is on.

It is. I have used the older charger on an R1150GSA, the same charger on several old K-Series (my K1 is currently on the charger) and even 2-valve twins.

I know someone who used one of the canbus chargers on an 1150GS.

The aux socket needs to be live for the charger to work. If yours has been wired through the ignition circuit the charger will not be doing anything unless the ignition is switched on.

Did the 1100GS have an aux socket as standard? If not, has a previous owner wired it via the ignition circuit?
