BMW charger

IS it right that the plug in BMW optimiser/charger thing should flash my headlight every few minutes.
Can this be stopped as it cant do the bulb any good?

My 08 GSA is allways plugged in and my headlight does not flash. But then again I have a set of Les's HID's fitted I would have a chat with your dealer as I am not sure that the flash of the head light when charging sounds right

Tek it back to Mill and tell them to sort it. It shouldn't flash the light when charging. You didn't need to buy the expensive BMW charger, either, but the dealer probably told you differently.

It flashes with HID's too and on 2 different BMW bikes.

I will ring the dealer. (who told me I needed the BMW one)

Thing is its done it for 18 months, just thought it was normal till someone mentioned that its not right doh!

Mine does it to, but I've been told it's OK. The BMW charger sends a code which triggers the canbus to open for charging. Otherwise the canbus system closes down a period after the ignition have been switched of.

The latest software appears to open the connection every time it detects a voltage in the accessory socket. My (non-BM) charger works fine as it cycles on-and-off.

I have a BMW charger.I have used it for nearly 2 years constantly. At the time of purchase there were two on offer. Mine is the "cheaper" of the two. It has never made my head lights flash. I suggest you take it back and ask for a replacement.
