Does anybody know if the cloth on these trousers 'give a bit' after a while?

Had mine for 18 months or so, but I haven't found that they do 'give', sorry.

One thing I found with the City 2 trousers was that after about 5,000 miles they rubbed through where they touch the edge of the fairing on my R100RS. The edge of the fairing is very well rounded, about 8mm radius at a guess. BMW didn't want to know. FFS, this stuff is supposed to protect me while I'm slithering along the tarmac at possibly silly speeds. Hard to have confidence in it.
