Has anyone had any success at all in pairing a BMW Communicator in a System 6 to a NON BMW Bluetooth intercom?

I'm looking for a solution so I can have rider to pillion comm's for my annual German trip this year as I have my son tagging along on the back.

Looking for a bit of advice on any units that may work, before I end up having to junk the communicator and buying a pair of scala's or similar.

Thanks for any and all advice.

I believe that the long range Bluetooth is a propriety technology and each manufacturer refuses to contemplate a standard as that will possibly loose them sales... fecking stupid if you ask me.

Your only hope is to find who actually makes the BMW kit, probably one of current the main manufacturers of Bluetooth comms. Hopefully the regular kit from them should work but you never know, BMW may have joined in the lunacy asked that it only be capable of working with other BMW BT comms.

Long live the open PMR446 standard  :D

Hi,
I tried to find out the very same thing about 18 months ago.
I got nowhere with BMW all the would say is that the WCS-2 would connect to another WCS-2, not much help as the Wife doesn't like the BMW helmets she only likes her Shoei .
I did find a site on line in America that thought it would connect to a bluetooth unit avaliable over there but the price to get it over here was nearly a dear as the WCS-2 and nobody could guarantee it would work :eek.
When I asked other suppliers of bluetooth units they suggested that I buy theres and try it out, also no help.
Sorry I haven't been able to get you any further forward but when you start getting involved researching bluethooth you very quickly find out it's a nightmare.
:(
