BMW diagnostic tools for IOS and Andriod

It would be interesting to hear any feedback from someone who has this as the price difference is significant and it doesn't appear to be limited to number of bike connections.

No doubt a cloned copy of a GS911 (not a problem in itself) .............. but it will depend what you actually want .

I had a cheap copy of VCDS (VAG diagnostics) and it was okay, cheap but no back up or updates ........... changed it for a genuine Ross Tech VCDS , yes it was about 5 times more expensive BUT I get regular updates (5 or 6 times a year), the back up of their website plus if there are any glitches or problems I can send a copy of a scan to Ross Tech and they will send me a work around for that particular issue .

Will be interesting to see if there is any feedback from anyone who has used one

Reading through it

It seems to be Waaaaaay back on the GS911

Personally I wouldn't bother

Bloody hell, talk about slating someone when you haven't even see the product!

Originally ivini, but now Carly for BMW.

Have a look online.

I have been using their car software for a couple of years and it is very useful.

I run an old E39 Touring, which it can diagnose issues on and perform a few codings, but on the newer models it can do a lot more, but more than pleased with it in my 'tool box' bearing in mind the price.

The software guys have been very interactive, ask a query or possible function, and they will look into it.

They have only recently ventured into the bike world.

I have the unit for the bike, and admit it performs only very basic functions, but look forward to them progressing with this as they have with the car side.

I have asked about service reset, parking throttle steppers etc, but I guess they need people to use the software and report back.

Thanks

Dazlove

You can "park" the throttle steppers by disconnecting the electrical connectors.

Really? How does that work then, seeing as you just unplugged their power supply ?? Did you reinvent the laws of physics or something.

Some of us are capable of thinking outside the box.
The steppers park when the ignition is off. Unplug them and they won't energise.
I'm sure you are smart enough to work out the rest.

Okay for comparison I do have GS911 and do know how to use it as a diagnostic tool above just checking fault codes

The quoted above functions is from this other crowds own site!

So comparing what they are advertising against 4 years of diagnosing "faults" with a GS911 .....

It does FUCK ALL in comparison to the GS911 backed up by their own advertisement(as quoted above!!!!)

Or....ummm....maybe they don't park!
Cos.....when you turn the key off the power is cut.
Or ......your bike the power stays on for a wee bit more?

also on the plus side ,i take that this tool is not limited to 10 vin numbers as the gs911 is (unless you buy the professional model).
to be honest if you just want one to reset your service light this would be ideal :thumb

Way over priced for what it is.
A 10 pin to OBD2 cable £10.00 from China coupled with an ELM327 or similar £3 from China.
A cheaper option is to wire an OBD2 connector to the BMSk and a bluetooth Pro- Scan you end up with a limited fault code reader for under a fiver.
I have the BMW 10 pin cable to OBD2 to connect an Innovate LM2 dual channel AFR meter whilst data logging up to 32 other channels.
I cannot run the LM2 alongside a GS911 as unfortunately there are conflicts.
I have not seen anything that compares in any way with the GS911 considering price, which is very low for its capability.
It is brilliant at data logging as well as fault diagnosis plus all its other functions and well worth the cost.

+1 for gs911 wifi, got lucky and bought it used on here,
Euro 4 may bring a bit more obd functionality and possibly the standard socket, on the latest bmw bikes,
roamer,
