I've had this helmet for a couple of years, and get a bit bothered by the noise levels past the legal limit even behind a well set up GS screen. if I change to another endure style helmet am I going to notice much of a difference? Or should I just slow down? Only asking here as the latest issue of ABR has some great options in the helmet test but frustratingly nothing in the way of noise comparisons.

I had a BMW enduro helmet a couple of years ago and found wind noise and turbulance from the peak quite excessive. I now have a Shoei Horney DS i occasionally use and this is much better overall. Would suggest trying earplugs tho' first before spending out on a new helmet.

My problem is that I'm a bit addicted to listening to music via autocom helmet speakers while I'm riding -I might be wrong but I assume earplugs would kill this?

I wear earplugs and find that I can still listen to music without too much difficulty up to about 75-80.

All of the enduro helmets I have tried (Arai Tour-X, Shoei Hornet and BMW Enduro) all have similar levels of noise (and turbulence) caused by the peak.

It makes a big difference when you get back to a 'normal' helmet.

Same here, failing that, it looks like you'll have to choose between listening to music, or permanently damaging your hearing....

Sorry, you'll have to speak up a little...

Perhaps I need to convert the helmet to in ear headphones which will protect my ears but allow me to still listen -does anyone know if that's possible with the auto cam system (probably a different thread?)

I tried the BMW Enduro for a day and found it too light and noisy compared to my Tour X3.

I also find that in-ear protection (with earphones) seems to make the noise situation worse than without and that the simple, cheap sponge earplugs do the best job of keeping noise out. And with my Scala helmet speakers, i can still listen to and hear fine, then music on my Garmin or iPhone.
